PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress drop in oscillation frequency by increase in capacitance caused by the thermal deformation of a strap ring by making smaller the distance between the inner diameter of a small diameter strap ring and a vane than the distance between the outer diameter of a large diameter strap ring and the vane. SOLUTION: The magnetron has an anode cylinder 1, a plurality of vanes 2 radially arranged on the inner surface of the anode cylinder 1, a large diameter strap ring 3 and a small diameter strap ring 4 which connect every other vane, and a cathode arranged on the center axis of the anode cylinder 1. The distance C between the inner diameter of the small diameter strap ring and the vane is made smaller than the distance A between the outer diameter of the large diameter strap ring and the vane. Or the distance B between the outer diameter of the small diameter strap ring and the inner diameter of the large diameter strap ring is made smaller then the distance A between the outer diameter of the large diameter strap ring and the vane. Change of capacitance caused by irreversible dimensional change in the diameter direction of the strap rings 3, 4 is canceled by the decreasing direction and the increasing direction.
