PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube is provided to prevent V grooves from being made between inner walls of a neck portion and a stem dowel. CONSTITUTION: The cathode ray tube comprises: a panel portion having a fluorescent plane; a neck portion (21) comprising an electron gun; a funnel portion formed between the panel portion and the neck portion; a stem (17) having a plurality of stem pins (14) for sealing an open end of the neck portion; and a deflecting yoke attached between a transient region of the neck portion and the funnel portion, wherein a diameter of an inner plane and/or an outer plane of an end side of the neck portion adjacent to the funnel portion is increasingly enlarged up to a corresponding end portion; and wherein in the enlarged portion is decreased an enlargement ratio of a portion around the open end (an end side) (19).
