The railway vehicle has at least one vibration absorber (5) on the carriage structure (2) for energy-efficient damping of the vibrations of the carriage structure, whereby the vibration frequency of the vibration absorber is controlled depending on control signals from at least one vibration sensor associated with the carriage structure. The vibration absorber has a passive absorption mass coupled to the carriage structure via spring/damper elements and the characteristic of the absorber is altered depending on the control signals.
