PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge, for an optical disk, which can restrain the optical disk from being tilted in its thickness direction without regulating the rotation for the read and write operation of the optical disk even when a gyro moment force which tends to turn the optical disk in its thickness direction is generated due to the operation in the yaw direction or the operation in the roll direction of an information recording/reproducing apparatus, to provide an information recording/reproducing apparatus which uses the cartridge and to provide its usage method. SOLUTION: In a cartridge 20 for an optical disk 24, a cartridge case 22 which has a space therein is provided. In addition, a disklike optical disk 24 which is housed in the space inside the cartridge case 22 is provided. In addition, a plurality of restraint means 44, 46 which are installed inside the cartridge case 22, which come into contact with circumferential face at the radially outer edge of the optical disk 24 to be turned for a read and write operation and which restrain the runout and the inclination in the thickness direction of the optical disk 24 are provided.
