PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by rewriting reproduction start position information, being stored into a storage means to one at the point corresponding the operation of the second operation system of a direct button. SOLUTION: When a video CD is loaded, a play sequence descriptor is read, and a direct selection key 21 stores the reproduction start position information of a corresponding track being allocated by default as rewritable data. When the direct selection key 21 is pressed for less than two seconds, the reproduction action of a corresponding track is started. While a desired track is being reproduced and when one of the direct selection keys 21 is pressed for two seconds or more, it is judged that the operation is registration operation, the reproduction start position information accompanying the track during reproduction is allocated to the direct selection key 21, and the reproduction start position information that has been previously stored is overwritten.
