METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREPARATION OF DICTIONARY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make automatically registerable a necessary number of items by registering successively input patterns in order from a higher evaluation value and also excluding previously the patterns included in the precedently registered patterns from the subsequent registering objects. SOLUTION: A pattern input part 101 outputs N pieces of input patterns to a feature value calculation part 102 which calculates the feature value of the input patterns and sends these value to a distance calculation part 104 and a feature value storage part 107 respectively. The part 104 calculates the distance between it and the feature value stored in the part 107 and outputs these distance calculation results to a table analysis part 105. The part 105 calculates the number of patterns where the distances are smaller than the threshold as the evaluation value for each pattern and then, registers these patterns in a dictionary output part 106 in order from the higher evaluation value. In that case, the patterns which are included in the precedently registered patterns are previously excluded from the subsequent registering objects.
