METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IGNITING GAS PRODUCTS

PURPOSE: An igniter of a gas product and a method thereof are provided to stably keep an ignition state after the initial ignition of a burner. CONSTITUTION: An igniter of a gas product includes a thermocouple(12) for generating electromotive force corresponding to a calorific value of a burner; a safety valve(1) for opening and closing the gas supply to the burner; an adjusting knob for manually opening and closing the safety valve; an ignition capacitor for charging a charge needed in opening the safety valve; and a switch(41) for connecting the safety valve and the ignition capacitor with a power supply unit and separating the safety valve and the ignition capacitor from the power supply unit upon the return of the adjusting knob. To ignite the gas product, the adjusting knob is ignited. The charge needed in opening the safety valve is charged in the ignition capacitor. Then the ignition is finished and the safety valve is opened by discharging the ignition capacitor.
