PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition that produces more enhanced cleaning effect and bactericidal effect and further simplifies a process for cleaning by mixing a first agent comprising a polyglycerin fatty acid ester and a pH adjustor, a second agent comprising sodium hypochlorite or ozone as the main component and water, and adjusting a pH of the mixture when mixing to a specified value. SOLUTION: The pH of the above mixture at the time of mixing is adjusted to the range of 3-7. A polyglycerin fatty acid ester is a compound in which a polyglycerol produced by polymerizing 2-10 glycerols and one or more 8-22C fatty acids form an ester linkage and one or more hydroxyl groups are present. A metal ion inhibitor and a solubilizing agent are preferably blended into the above first agent. The polyglycerin fatty acid ester and water are preferably blended in the first agent in a ratio of 0.1-20 wt.% polyglycerin fatty acid ester and 30-90 wt.% water. The first agent is dissolved in water so that the concentration of the first agent amounts to 0.1-5 wt.%, and hypochlorous acid is dissolved in the aqueous solution of the first agent so that the solution has an available chlorine concentration of 100-300 ppm or ozone is dissolved in the aqueous solution of the first agent so that the solution has an ozone concentration of 0.1-5 wt.%, whereby the detergent composition is prepared.
