PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, low-cost paper feeder that can avoid skews of various sizes of paper sheets being delivered without causing increases in carrying resistance and in noise. SOLUTION: The leading edge of a paper sheet a delivery roller 11 feeds forward is places in butt contact with the peripheral surface of a pinch roller 14 whose width in a direction Y perpendicular to the paper sheet carrying direction X is larger than that of a drive roller 13 by a prescribed degree. This arrangement can place the leading edge of various sizes of paper including longitudinally delivered postcards and half-size letters in overall butt contact along width with the peripheral surface of the pinch roller 14 to pose no difference in feed locus length between their lateral sides.
