A lifting inker unit includes a lifting roller (6) moved by a motor (11) over a revolving cam (13). The motor is designed as a cam to turn with angular acceleration during a constant printing speed in a printing machine. The cam has a swiveling mechanism able to bring the lifting roller to and fro between the inker unit rollers (5,7). A roller lever (14) can be substituted by a roller tappet operated by the cam in the lifting roller run on bearings.
