PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a high purity aromatic polycarbonate resin copolymer having a triarylamine structure at high reaction rate. SOLUTION: When producing an aromatic polycarbonate resin copolymer by reacting a dihydric phenol including one having a triarylamine structure with phosgene, the method of this invention is to add 1.3-2 mol phosgene to a solution of 1 mol dihydric phenol in a mixture of an alkali aqueous solution (including 4.5-6 mol alkali based on 1 mol dihydric phenol) and an organic solvent, in which the volumetric ratio of the organic solvent phase to the aqueous solution phase is 1:(1-2.5), to react them at 10-25 deg.C. The resultant aromatic polycarbonate oligomer solution is added with a monohydric phenol to react with each other to form the objective aromatic polycarbonate resin copolymer.
