PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manually turning mechanism of a passenger conveyor drive device which is capable of shortening the attachment/detachment working time to/from the drive device, and excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: A turning mechanism comprises an existing deceleration side sprocket 5 as a driven side sprocket, an existing intermediate sprocket 9 as a drive side sprocket, a handle body 10 to manually turn the intermediate sprocket 9, and a chain 11 to be wound around the deceleration side sprocket 5 and the intermediate sprocket 9. The handle body 10 comprises a fixing member one end side of which is fixed to a shaft of the intermediate sprocket 9, four locking projection members which are provided on one end side of the fixing member to be locked to a tooth part of the intermediate sprocket 9, and a handle member to be provided on the other end side of the fixing member, and the intermediate sprocket 9 is fitted to a bracket 8 with the handle body 10 fitted to the intermediate sprocket 9 in advance.
