The cups are positioned along one or more helical lines over the outer surface of the screen roller (1). At least on one end of the screen roller, the helical lines (2) are broken by a narrow section (a,b) free of cups. The cups are polygonal, such as hexagonal, and are positioned in succession in an axial direction so that they interlock.
