PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to easily adjust the position of an optical sensor for an optical information recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: In the device, a luminous flux emitted from a laser beam source is converged on an optical disk through an objective optical system and an optical sensor is provided to receive the reflected light beams from the disk. Pictures of light receiving sections 24a and 24b of the sensor and luminous fluxes c1 and c2, which are reflected by the disk and made incident on the suctions 24a and 24b, are picked up and displayed on a display device 129. Then, the position adjustment is accomplished so as to approximately place the fluxes at the center of the sections on the device 129.
