PURPOSE: A shock absorber of a cross member for a car is provided to protect a driver and a passenger by absorbing gradually the shock given to a cross member when a car collide. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber of a cross member for a car comprises: a passing hole(22b) and a safe receipt hole(22c) formed a upper plate(20) of a cross member(10) as maintaining a reasonable interval; a lower plate(30) including a slot hole(31) for corresponding to a passing hole(22b) and a safe receipt hole(22c); a connecting member to connect a passing hole(22b) of the upper and the lower plate(20)(30) with a slot hole(31); numerous rib(22d) formed between a passing hole(22b) and a safe receipt hole(22c).
