PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymer compound at a low cost by which the reaction efficiency of a reaction material, and the quality of a product can be extremely improved without installing a stirrer as a substantial means for promoting surface renewal of a reaction liquid by introducing an inert gas flow. SOLUTION: An inert gas flow is introduced so as to have a velocity component in the circumference direction of a reaction vessel when the inert gas is introduced into the reaction vessel to provide a polymer compound such as a polyester and a polyamide. The inert gas flow is preferably regulated so that the inert gas may stir the reaction liquid or cause a negative pressure part in the gas-phase part of the reaction vessel. The inert gas is preferably recycled to the reaction vessel while heating the inert gas, and the pressure in the reaction vessel is preferably regulated so as to be the atmospheric pressure or more.
