PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flipper for swimming not being a burden on a diver so much, more efficient viewing from dynamics of both passive flipping and active flipping, providing more effective propulsive force by pushing by securing an inclination larger than the conventional inclination of the flipper to the surface of water especially when starting active flipping. SOLUTION: Concerning a flipper 1 for swimming composed of a shoe 4 made of comparatively soft material having a sole 3 made of the material of comparatively high rigidity, the shoe 4 is provided with at least two protruding elements 31 in the directions of side part and front part. The base part of a blade 2 is hinged to the sole 3 of the shoe 4 in the area between the protruding elements 31 by two extensible stroke limit elements 5. The protruding element 31 is suitable for abutting to the upper surface of the blade 2.
