PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely permit the prevention of liquid back in a compressor by deciding the condition of refrigerant, flowing into the suction part of the compressor, regardless of the kind of refrigerant. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner 10, in which refrigerant is circulated through sequentially connected compressor 16, outdoor heat exchanger 19, outdoor expansion valve 24, indoor expansion valve 22A and indoor heat exchanger 21A, a temperature sensor 26 is installed near a suction part in the outer casing unit of the compressor 16 while the outdoor expansion valve 24 and the indoor expansion valve 22A, which control the flow of refrigerant, are constituted so that the operations of the same can be controlled based on a temperature near the suction part in the outer casing of the compressor, which is detected by the temperature sensor 26.
