PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively install an upper link pivot in employing a toroidal type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: A space 14i for housing a unit input shaft side having a toroidal type continuously variable transmission and a space 14o for housing a unit output shaft side communicate with each other and formed in a casing 14. The toroidal type continuously variable transmission 2 has an upper link 31 for linking facing trunnions 30 at their upper parts each other for oscillation. In an upper link post 28 for oscillatably supporting the upper link 31, its base end side is fixed to the space 14i and its end side is cantilevered to project up to a position for communicating the space 14i with the space 14o.
