PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket capable of preventing the danger of the fatigue fracture of a bead or a portion in the vicinity thereof by absorbing constant displacement between an opposing surface and a joined surface by using the plastic deformation of an adhesive so as to bring the gasket close to a stiff body. SOLUTION: In the joined surfaces 5 and 6 of sheet metal 1 disposed between opposing surfaces, for example between the cylinder head and the cylinder block of an engine, adhesive portions 7 and 8 made of an adhesive having a plastic deformation characteristic are provided along a bore hole edge 4. The adhesive portions 7 and 8 are adhered to the opposing surfaces to seal the same, and constant displacement between the joined surfaces 5 and 6 and the opposing surfaces is absorbed by the plastic deformation of the adhesive. Thus, a reduction in the spring constant of a gasket for providing elastic deformation to temporarily absorb displacement is maintained at a minimum limit, and the danger of the fatigue fracture of a bead or a portion in the vicinity thereof formed in a conventional gasket is prevented.
