FIELD: mechanical engineering; low-noise air cleaners for motor vehicles. SUBSTANCE: air cleaner has case with bottom and cover, filter element placed inside case and used to separate the latter into dirty-air section and clean-air section which are provided with outlet and inlet ports, respectively; case also accommodates air silencer. Novelty is that air silencer is made in the form of noise-suppressing shell mounted on case walls to organize dirty air section at least on side opposite to outlet port; lining includes at least porous noise-absorbing layer, external noise- transparent smooth protective layer, and adhesive mounting layer.
