摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily seal an EL element in a short time without causing the functional drop thereof. SOLUTION: An EL element 2 formed on the surface of a substrate 1 is wrapped with a wrapping member 3 and an adhesive 5 setting upon exposure to ultraviolet is applied to a sealing part formed with the wrapping member 3 without any gap. Light including ultraviolet and a heat ray is irradiated to the adhesive 5 after passing through a heat ray absorbent 30 capable of transmitting ultraviolet but absorbing the heat ray, thereby hardening the adhesive 5 for sealing the sealing part. According to this sealing method, the heat ray absorbent 30 can be made to absorb the heat ray and ultraviolet can be irradiated to the adhesive 5 under the sufficient restraint of heating the adhesive 5 and the surrounding members thereof with the heat ray.
