PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in detection of attachment failure of a retainer, and prevent damages on the retainer or an inspection part. SOLUTION: In the case where a retainer 44 is set up loosely from a connector housing, a protrusion 21 of an inspection part 14 abuts on the retainer 44, and the inspection part 14 is regulated on a position retreated from an inspection position DP by L2 of the prescribed retreating rate. In such a condition that conduction is not given in all terminals T of the connector 40 is realized, and a wrong attachment of the retainer 44 is certainly detected with an excellent workability during a normal conduction inspection process. As the wrong attached retainer 44 is elastically pressed by a compression coil spring 28, the retainer 44 is not subject to damage. Thereby, the wrong attached retainer 44 is reattached in a normal way so as to reduce a defective rate substancially.
