PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an inserting work of a pipe into a tube and a positioning accuracy and to conduct a good soldering by reducing a size of a flat tube in a width direction and providing a cutout for specifying an inserting margin of the flat tube into a header pipe at an end of the flat tube. SOLUTION: A size of a flat tube 4 of the heat exchanger in a width direction is reduced, and a cutout 11 for specifying an inserting margin into a pair of header pipes is provided at an end of the tube 4. One plate is bent, ends of the plate are connected and the cutout 11 is provided at a connecting part 12 of the tube 4. When the tube 4 is inserted from tube inserting holes of a pair of header pipes, a contact surface 13 of the cutout 11 with the outer periphery of the header pipe is brought into contact with an outer periphery of the pipe, thereby specifying the inserting margin of the tube 4 to a predetermined amount. Thus, since the inserting hole of the header pipe is completely closed, positioning accuracy and brazing properties of the tube 4 are improved to prevent a leakage or the like.
