The sliding bearing system, for the reciprocating rod in a bobbin winder, to wind cross wound bobbins, is in two parts to be assembled together and form a passage (23) as a cup (24). The cup contains a guide ball (27), clamped in place with a light press fit, to form a cylindrical sliding bearing drilling (28) for the reciprocating rod (1). Two holder sections (21,22) each have a half-cup, assembled together to form the holder (20) on the axial line of the reciprocating rod (1). Each holder section (21,22) has a radial insertion slit, diametrically opposite each other when the holder (20) is assembled. The guide ball (27) is composed of two ball segments, which can be separated, held together by at least one tongue and groove joint. The guide ball can have a projection as an extension of the rod sliding bearing guide passage.
