摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted oscillator that can be surely positioned by sufficiently utilizing a board area of a mount board and adopt a surface mounted vibrator. SOLUTION: The surface mounted crystal oscillator is obtained by mounting a surface mounted vibrator 1 and a circuit component 2 onto a mount board having a terminal electrode 9 and a shield electrode and covering a metallic cover 4 for oscillator on the mount board 3. The metallic cover 4 for oscillator has legs 14 each having a projection 13 in the middle of a set of side faces opposed to each other. The projection 13 is projected inward by swelling processing through depression from an outer surface. The size of the surface mounted vibrator 1 has nearly the same size as the width of the metallic cover 4 for oscillator and the surface mounted vibrator 1 is clamped by a major plane of the metallic cover 4 for oscillator and the projections 13. Then the vibrator 1 is inserted to a recessed part 15 provided to each of opposed sides of the mount board 3 and soldered. Furthermore, a metallic film is formed to the recessed part 15 and is connected to the shield electrode of the mount board 3.
