PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tune a plurality of frequencies without varying the material of an absorber by forming an absorber of protrusions having a width corresponding to the frequency and making a plurality of recesses between them. SOLUTION: A wide band radio wave absorber 1 is made of a magnetic body of ferrite, or the like, and comprises a reflector part 2 having rectangular plan view and a plurality of protrusions 3b-3f projecting therefrom. Each protrusion 3b-3f has a width corresponding to the frequency of radio wave to be absorbed and arranged in parallel along same direction through a recess 4 of same width. Regarding a radio wave incident perpendicularly to the reflector part 2, frequencies corresponding to the width of the protrusions 3b-3f are absorbed. Since the protrusion 3b-3f is set with a width corresponding to the frequency to be absorbed, arbitrary radio wave absorption characteristics can be attained and a wide radio wave absorption band can be realized through collection of a plurality of absorption frequency characteristics.
