摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve melting of the waste efficiently transmitting the arc heat without increasing the equipment cost by providing a compressed air blowout nozzle in a waste throw-in port provided at an upper part of a furnace, and controlling the falling position of the thrown waste blowing the compressed air. SOLUTION: A semi-cylindrical chute 10 is suspended from a waste throw-in port 3 provided in an upper part of an arc melting furnace, and a blowout nozzle 11 is provided in the chute 10, and the blowout nozzle 11 is provided with an air supply tube 12 so as to supply the compressed air through a pressure adjusting valve 13 and an opening and closing valve 14. Melting is carried out by blowing the waste 15 flowing for fall along the chute 10 in the direction expressed with an arrow with the compressed air blown from the blowout nozzle 11. Degree of blow-away of the waste 15 is adjusted by adjusting the blowout pressure of the compressed air with pressure adjusting valve 13, and adjusting the opening and closing time of the opening and closing valve 14 so that the waste 15 drops near a main electrode. With this structure, generation of a heap of the waste 15, which is not melted is thereby prevented inside the furnace.
