METHOD FOR CHARGING EXPRESSWAY FARE BY SMART CARD

PURPOSE: A method for charging expressway fare with a smart card is provided for users' convenience by paying an expressway fare automatically with a single smart card. CONSTITUTION: A method for charging expressway fare by smart card comprises step of transmitting a command signal of requesting to send out a certification of the smart card when a car enters an expressway(ST1); step of transmitting a certification file from the smart card(ST2); step of verifying a validity of the certification file and encoding time and the certification file by DES key(ST3): step of transmitting a cryptogram and a peculiar number to the smart card and making the smart card store the cryptogram and the peculiar number(ST4); step of transmitting a command signal of sending the certification which requests to send the certification of the smart card when the car approaches an exit(ST5); step of transmitting the certification file stored in the smart card(ST6); step of verifying a validity of the certification file and requesting to transmit the cryptogram and the peculiar number stored in the smart card(ST7); step of transmitting the cryptogram and the peculiar number stored in the smart card(ST8); step of calculating the expressway fare by the cryptogram and the peculiar number stored in the smart card(ST9); step of transmitting a signal requesting to pay the calculated fare to the smart card(ST10): step of storing the paied fare and encoding the item of transaction by a prescribed common key and transmitting it to the smart card(ST11).
