The pressure transformer has two pressure vessels connected by a flow channel of min. 2m, pref. 10m length. A valve, pref. a flutter valve, is located between a channel end and a pressure vessel. There are one or more return valves in front of the flutter valve, a gas expansion machine, pref. a turbine is positioned behind the return valves, and a heat exchanger is connected behind the turbine. The heat exchanger output is connected to the first pressure vessel, and the required pressure differential between both vessels is maintained by a compressor.
