The invention relates to a signal transmission system for remotely controlling and/or monitoring electrical or electronic devices within a building parallel with the 220 VAC mains system. This transmission system in each case exhibits a MODEM for the remote control and monitoring device and in each case one MODEM for the remote controlled and monitored devices. Each MODEM has inputs/outputs for the remote control and monitoring devices and the remote controlled and monitored devices, the signal transmission between the individual MODEMS occurring serially via coaxial lines or optical waveguides. So that this system can be used for flush-mounted installation, each MODEM, consisting of a transmitter modulator and a receiver demodulator, is constructed as flush-mounted installation device for electrical and/or electronic command transmitters, signalling elements and/or plug-in connectors and exhibits a support member of metal on which a housing of insulating material for the MODEM is mounted and which has a cover for the command or signalling device and/or the plug-in device. |
