PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain polyester fibers containing each a specific aluminum compound and antimony compound, having a dimensional stability parameter below a specified value, with high dimensional stability and in-rubber heat resistance, and alternative to rayon fibers. SOLUTION: The polyester fibers for rubber reinforcement are such fibers as to consist of a polyester containing 2-120 ppm, calculated as aluminum atom, of aluminum compound(s) (pref. at least one selected from aluminum hydroxide, chloride, hydroxychloride, and acetate) and 150-400 ppm, calculated as antimony atom, of an antimony compound (pref. antimony trioxide) and have a dimensional stability parameter (intermediate elongation + dry heat shrinkage) of <8%, terminal carboxyl group level of pref. <=25 eq/ton, and diethylene glycol content of pref. <=1.3 wt.%.
