PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the availability of a peripheral device around a seat by determining the presence of an occupant or an object in a seat device, or the physical constitution of the occupant. SOLUTION: This sensor determines if an occupant is seated on the seating part 2 of a seat or an object is present based on a dielectric sensor 11 and a pressure sensitive sensor 12 detecting the occupant or the object in the seating part 2 of the seat, or determines the physical constitution of the occupant based on the dielectric sensor 11 and the pressure sensitive sensor 12 in the seating part 2 of the seat, a dielectric sensor 13 in a seat back 3, and an angle sensor 14 detecting an angle of the seating part 2 of the seat to the seat back 3.
