PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original paper for heat-sensitive stencil printing by which a printing of a high picture quality can be performed, and printing wrinkles are not generated even when a large number of sheets are printed. SOLUTION: In this original paper for heat-sensitive stencil printing, when the average value of an orientation parameter of a thermoplastic resin fiber which is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the original paper, obtained by a laser Raman spectroscopic method, is taken as R1, and the average value of the orientation parameter of a thermoplastic resin fiber which is arranged in the lateral direction of the same original paper, is taken as R2, they are set to satisfy R1>R2. Also, preferably, they are set to satisfy R1-R2>=0.
