PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steering system which can be set easily to a vehicle and in which essential steering function can be sustained surely even if it is subjected to a large vibration, or the like. SOLUTION: A steering system comprises a base 1 being secured to a seat S, a strut 2 turnable about the base 1, a motor support 3 movable bout the strut 2 and in the axial direction thereof, a steering motor 4 turnable about the motor support 3, a steering arm 5 being fixed removably to a steering wheel H, and a universal joint 7 for transmitting rotation of the output shaft 6 of the steering motor 4 to the steering arm 5 wherein setting of the steering system to a vehicle is simplified.
