PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device for a building capable of reducing operation noises and effectively controlling omnidirectional traverse vibration. SOLUTION: A vibration control device 10 for a building includes a base 12, a top plate 14 placed on a top side of the base 12 and opposing to the base 12 in parallel, and a weight 20 fixed on the top plate 14. Additionally, the device 10 includes a laminated rubber 30 arranged between the top plate 14 and the base 12 for supporting the top plate 14, a timing belt 34 laid across pulleys 32, 32 and bolted on the top plate 14, and a motor 40 for driving the timing belt 34 via a reduction gear.
