testing of mechanical properties of metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: method includes cooling and loading of specimen and determination of dependence of hardness from temperature. Hardness temperature dependence is described by formula: where is metal hardness at room temperature; beta is coefficient of hardness temperature dependence; T is temperature, C; A is constant connected with beta by relation A = -4.103+3,3.105.beta.. Then coefficient of temperature dependence beta and brittleness critical temperature are determined.
