PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give an excellent transparency and excellent gas barrier properties against oxygen, water vapor or the like to this film by a method wherein a vapor deposited film made of inorganic oxide is formed on the surface layer plane of a multilayered polypropylene film, at least the surface layer of which is made of a low melting polypropylene resin layer. SOLUTION: A transparent barrier film 1 is produced by providing a vapor deposited film made of inorganic oxide on the surface layer plane of a multilayered polypropylene film 3, at least the surface layer of which is made of a low melting polypropylene resin layer 2. In this case, the multilayered polypropylene film 3 is formed by a plurality of polypropylene resin layers, the melting points of which become higher in succession from its surface layer to its inner layer. The vapor deposited film 4 of the inorganic oxide is produced by means of a vacuum deposited method, a plasma chemical vapor phase growth method or the like. Thus, a film, which is excellent in transparency as an enough flexibility, and is excellent in oxygen gas barrier properties, water vapor gas barrier properties or the like can be manufactured.
