PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument capable of easily performing the straightening processing or the like of the hair at small parts such as the nape and the periphery of the ear of short hair. SOLUTION: This hair iron is provided with a first lever 1 and a second lever 2 respectively housing an electric heater H on a tip side, freely turnably connected by fulcrum parts 5 near a rear end with each other and energized so as to separate the tip sides from each other by a spring and is also provided with a finger placing part 11 extended from the front end of a holding part 4 positioned at the center part of the respective levers 1 and 2 to the tip side and continued to the upper surface of a plate part 6 for housing the heater H. A slit 12 is formed between the finger placing part 11 and the plate part 6. Thus, heat is hardly transmitted to the finger placing part 11. Thus, since the tip side is firmly held without feeling the heat, even fine work is performed at ease.
