The invention relates to a plastic screw cap for containers, especially bottles, with a sealing cap comprising a base and an encircling cover extending approximately vertically from said base and with at least one peripheral bearing surface on either the inner side of the base and/or the cover, whereby said bearing surface of the plastic screw cap faces the exterior of the container in the vicinity of the container mouth. The invention is characterized in that the bearing surface (10) has a sealing element (3A, 3B) which forms a peripheral elevation (11) on said bearing surface and in that the sealing element (3A, 3B) is made of a softer material than the sealing cap (2). |
