PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge accurately and exactly the grade and rank of goods by dividing a conveyance conveyer into a front part and a rear part, setting the space between both parts to an interval wherein the goods can be transferred by flying, and providing an image-picking up means. SOLUTION: In this apparatus 1 for inspection of goods, when many eggplants A... are allowed to be transferred from a feed conveyor 2 to a separation conveyor 3, the eggplants are serially separated on the conveyor 3, and accelerated by the separation conveyor 3, allowed to fly to a lining-up conveyor 4, and each of eggplants allowed to be transferred one by one onto a classifying conveyor 5. Simultaneously, a peripheral surface of the eggplant A is photographed at an inspection position (a) set on the separation conveyor 3 and an inspection position (b) set between the separation conveyor 3 and the lining up conveyor 4, and the grade and rank of the eggplant A are judged by an inspection device 8 based on the photographed image data. Thereby, the whole of a lower face can be photographed. The grade and rank of the goods can be accurately and exactly judged based on the photographed image data of the whole of the peripheral face, and judged precision can be improved.
