PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise housing device for an automatic vending machine having a function which suppresses the turning of merchandise on a merchandise leading member to a vertical direction and also improves margin for a bridge phenomenon when merchandise is thrown in and ejected. SOLUTION: The turning of merchandise 2 to a vertical direction is suppressed by continuously providing a recessed part 18 purposing that the projection part of the merchandise 2 can fall into it or a projection part that is not shown in the diagram in the longitudinal direction of a merchandise leading member 13 purposing that the concave part of the merchandise 2 can have relation with it when the merchandise 2 is thrown in and ejected, and a circular shape part 20 is provided at the front end part 19 of the member 13.
