PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a running cost by saving power consumption in a drink production vending machine. SOLUTION: In this drink production vending machine 1 which obtains hot water by heating water and subsequently keeps it hot, prepares a beverage by using the hot water kept hot when a purchase request is received and sells this beverage in a beverage container 23, the quantity of hot water to be kept hot is set to about one cup of the beverage container 23. Since the quantity of the hot water to be kept hot is made small in a period when a purchase request is waited for in this way, power needed to keep it hot is reduced.
