PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for allowing the coin, the security or the like to generate the sound and identifying whether a coin, a security or the like is authentic or false based on sound. SOLUTION: A coin, a paper money or a security is given impact to generate sound. The sound generated by the impact is detected by a microphone in an analogy way. The sound detected as analogy quantity is analyzed so that the most frequency components have a natural frequency owned by the coin, paper money, security or the like by perform Fourier development. The analyzed natural frequency is compared with the natural frequency of the coin, paper money, security or the like, which is previously stored, so that the authenticity/ falsehood of the coin, security or the like can be identified.
