PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in image quality caused by the expansion and contraction of an intermediate transfer body or an image forming medium holder due to temp. by measuring the temp. of the intermediate transfer body or the temp. of a part whose temp. has correlation with the temp. of the intermediate transfer body and controlling the timing of writing a latent image onto a latent image carrier, in accordance with the measured temp. SOLUTION: This iamge forming device is provided with a temperature detector 81 for measuring the temp. of an intermediate transfer belt 71 or the temp. of the part whose temp. has correlation with the temp. of the intermediate transfer body 71, an image positional error measuring device 82 as a timing control means for controlling the timing of writing the latent image onto the latent image carrier, in accordance with the temp. measured by the temperature detector 81 and an image positional error correcting device 83. Thus, a deviation in an image forming position caused by the expansion and contraction of the intermediate transfer belt 71 or the image forming medium holder due to the temp. can be corrected and especially, in a color image, the occurrence of color slurring can be prevented, so that an image of high quality can be obtained. |
