PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car body structure capable of increasing car body twisting rigidity and side collision energy absorbing performance without adding any reinforcing members. SOLUTION: Since a rear side member 7 is formed to be opened outward in a car width direction in section and the upper and bottom surface parts 7u and 7d of the rear side member 7 are connected to the upper surface part 6u and the bottom surface part of a side sill inner 6, compared with the conventional case of connecting only a bottom surface part, the connecting rigidity of the rear side member 7 to the side sill inner 6 is increased. With the increase of the connecting rigidity, the surface rigidity of a rear floor 1 is also increased, improving the twist rigidity of a car body.
