PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly retrieve a desired device by producing a list of devices accordant with the set retrieval condition from the device information to be acquired. SOLUTION: In a constitution example of an image processor applying a retrieval/display method, the image data photographed by a digital camera, etc., are stored in a prescribed area of an HD 24 via a CF card 22 or a 1394-interface 11 and can be optionally edited by a user by means of a display 18 and a touch panel 20. The image processor also has a function to send and print the image data via a printer connected to a 1394-network. and a selection candidate production function to select a desired device on the 1394-network. The code of the application software where the above functions are programmed is stored in a prescribed area of a ROM 15 or the HD 24 and then expanded on a RAM 16 to be executed there. The selection set information store area of the HD 24 stores the selection set information that is needed for selecting a desired device on the 1394-network.
