PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly decrease the size and to obtain a large crosstalk ratio by forming such a structure that the transmitted light refracted by a light guiding means and the external light received by the structure are allowed to exit to each specified direction on one principal face of a substrate. SOLUTION: The module M1 has a substrate consisting of a light-transmitting silicon or quartz, and on one principal plane (lower surface) of the substrate 10 is provided with a light emitting device 14 such as a semiconductor laser and a light guiding means (a wavelength filter 6 disposed on a slope 10b) which refracts the transmitted light from the light emitting device 14 to the other principal plane (upper surface) of the substrate 10. The other principal plate of the substrate 10 is provided with a light controlling means (a wavelength filter 1 disposed on a slope 10a) which control the emission of the transmitted light refracted by the light guiding means and the external light received by the module (light entering from an optical fiber 13) to each specified direction (to a light accepting device 11 such as a photodiode provided on an electrode 4 or to the end face of the optical fiber 13).
