<p>Disclosed is a connector plug (10) and an optical fibre connection system employing the connector plugs (10). Each connector plug (10) comprises a plurality of optical fibres (20) arranged transversely in a plurality of corresponding fibre optic alignment cavities (35) within a connector plug member (30) and each having a fibre endface (22). The connector plug member (30) has a front facet (40), a top side (50), a bottom side (60), one or more guide pin insertion holes (80) and a rear end (70). The fibre endfaces (22) of the optical fibres (20) are located at a distance L from the front facet (40), preferably between 0 mu m and 4 mu m, within the fibre optic alignment cavity (35). <IMAGE></p> |
