PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask mounting unit or the like capable of simplifying a device and maintenance thereof. SOLUTION: This mask mounting and detaching unit 4 comprises a mask support 43 for supporting a shadow mask, a positioning member 45 infiltrating into a positioning hole of the shadow mask for positioning the shadow mask, first energizing means 47b for energizing the positioning member 45, a holding member 46 for holding the shadow mask, second energizing means 47a for energizing the holding member 46, a pressing member 44 for pressing an elastic plate of the shadow mask, third energizing means 47c for energizing the pressing member 44, and a panel support 42 for supporting an image tube panel. This mask mounting and detaching unit 4 is unitized by mounting the first, second, and third energizing means, the mask support 43, and the panel support 42 to a substrate 41.
